How to Root Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 GT-P5210 Running on Official Firmware through Odin:

  1. Download TWRP Recovery and Root File for Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 P5210 and extract both the Zip file
  2. Download Odin 3.07 and extract the Zip file: Odin 3.07.Zip
  3. Now, Switch off your Tablet and boot Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 P5210 into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power buttons together (long press until the boot screen appear), now press Volume Up key to proceed to Download Mode.
  4. Run the Odin3 v3.07.exe file as an administrator (Right click on the .exe file and click on Run as administrator)
  5. Now connect your Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 P5210 to your computer via USB cable
  6. In Odin3 screen, you should see a COM Port number like “0:[COM7]” at ID:COM section and “Added!” text at the message box. This means your device has been detected by Odin3.
  7. Make sure that, only the “F. Reset Time” option will be checked [Uncheck the “Auto Reboot”].
  8. Now, click on the PDA (AP in latest Odin) button and select the TWRP Recovery file (Recovery.tar.md5).
  9. Finally, click on the Start button to begin the rooting process, wait few moments.
  10. Once completed, copy the Root file to Tablet and Reboot in to Recovery by Pressing and holding the Volume Up and Power Buttons together
  11. Select install zip from sdcard, then choose the root file and flash
  12. You can now disconnect your Tablet from computer

    How can I copy the root file to the tablet when it is in download mode?
    Windows does not see the device in downloadmode.
    What am I doing wrong?

    1. im stuck on step 9 the root as been download but my tablet still says downloading do not turn off target ,it won't turn off it won't do anything.my computer reconises the tablet but won't open the options where you can vew the files of the tablet. HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Looks like there is something missing tho in the steps.

    Once completed, copy the Root file to Tablet and Reboot in to Recovery by Pressing and holding the Volume Up and Power Buttons together
    Select install zip from sdcard, then choose the root file and flash

    You have to copy it to the root but you have to select it from the sdcard??

    Altho I don't even get the option to chose flash from sd card.

  8. The bit it doesn't tell you is.... (I think)... you have to put the root Zip file on a micro SD card and insert that into tablet's Micro SD slot....then you can install from SD Card on the menu.....
