How to Root Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 GT-P5200 Running on Official Firmware through Odin:

  1. Download TWRP Recovery and Root File for Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 P5200 and extract both the Zip file
  2. Download Odin 3.07 and extract the Zip file: Odin 3.07.Zip
  3. Now, Switch off your Tablet and boot Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 P5200 into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power buttons together (long press until the boot screen appear), now press Volume Up key to proceed to Download Mode.
  4. Run the Odin3 v3.07.exe file as an administrator (Right click on the .exe file and click on Run as administrator)
  5. Now connect your Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 P5200 to your computer via USB cable
  6. In Odin3 screen, you should see a COM Port number like “0:[COM7]” at ID:COM section and “Added!” text at the message box. This means your device has been detected by Odin3.

  8. Now, click on the PDA (AP in latest Odin) button and select the TWRP Recovery file (Recovery.tar.md5).

    I got stuck at point 10.
    How can I copy the root file to the tablet when it is in download mode?
    Windows does not see the device in downloadmode.

  2. Hoppig you're still not stuck... Copy the root file mentioned in step one by downloading it using the link affixed (in step one) onto your device and then booting into recovery mode (twrp) so as to install the root file previously downloaded.

    To get into recovery mode, press and hold both the volume up and power buttons.
    Then to root, follow instruction 11.
